NEBS Testing |
| | NEBS stands for "Network Equipment-Building System." It is a term commonly used to refer to a series of documents that apply to telecommunications equipment located in a Central Office. NEBS testing is based on the Telcordia (Bellcore) standard reliability testing methods, one of the most common documents used for testing is the GR-63-CORE (Central Office Relay Equipment), Network Equipment-Building System Requirements: Physical Protection.
The specification tests telecommunications systems and components to ensure network integrity, and the potential for a system or component to degrade the integrity of a network.
In the telecommunications industry, networking equipment is heavily used in central office environments. In the central office, equipment is mission-critical and requires the use of equipment that is highly reliable.
NEBS testing provides the information to determine the qualification of these mission critical systems and components and ultimately assures the quality of performance for these mission-critical applications.
DATASYST worked with Artesyn Communications of Madison, Wisconsin to develop a NEBS test program to meet the requirements of both internal and external clients. This white paper discusses the process of development and testing. White Paper |
