An automated heating/cooling chamber enables accelerated thermal-cycle life testing of material samples. Samples can be tested in an environmental chamber that completes a thermal cycle based on the parameters of temperature and time.

The temperature of the component under test can be used measuring temperature on a defined surface of the component. Thermocouples can be attached to a fixture and / or to one of the samples for monitoring test temperatures. This testing is completed in an environmental chamber which has programmable temperature levels and times to complete a cycle.

Another style of temperature testing is thermal shock testing. This is most efficiently completed in a multi-chamber thermal shock machine. The process allows component(s) to be shuttled between a cold temperature chamber and a hot temperature chamber in less than 10 seconds.
